Las Vegas, NM -- Western New Mexico's women's basketball team beat New Mexico Highlands for the second time of the season Tuesday night in Las Vegas. The 89-69 victory was never in doubt as Western moved to 6-14 (6-9 RMAC) while Highlands fell to 1-22 (1-15 RMAC)
Western shot a nice .577 for the game while holding Highlands to .324. The Stangs also held a decisive 57-34 rebounding advantage.
WNMU built a 52-30 halftime lead.
Senior Tannesia Manley let the Mustangs with a solid 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. Crystal Smith added 16 while Ashley Vigil had 10.
Western returns to Silver City for a Friday night game with Western State.
